Have you ever thought about the fact that you are writing a story about your life each and every day? What you do or say largely dictates the direction your kids go, the people who want to hang out with you, and the overall impression that you leave behind after you die.
Just like reading a novel that has chapters and chapters to go through to put the whole story together, we are building chapters upon chapters in our lives that others will look at in hopes of gaining value. I don’t think it is about having a story with no flaws or one that looks perfect from the outside – it is about having a story that is going somewhere worth going. Sure, you might be in a chapter of life where you feel like you aren’t gaining any traction, but it is just that, a chapter. The next chapter will come and you will build upon what you learned from the one you just walked through.
Of course this doesn’t only apply to the money decisions you are about to make, it applies to all aspects of life. Are the decisions that you are making now going to be a benefit or a hindrance to those affected by your story? If you need to, start a new chapter.
